Disclaimer | Varana Charters — Komodo Charter Boat

Varana Charters publishes boat-matching guidance and estimated charter prices for informational purposes only. Every rate, fee, and figure on this website is date-stamped and subject to change without notice. Varana Charters is a booking brand operated by Komodo Luxury, a real charter operator based in Labuan Bajo — not a government authority, park regulator, or the owner of the boats we help you charter.

Read this page before you rely on anything published here. It sets out who we are, what our figures mean, where our responsibility ends, and how to raise a complaint.

Who publishes this website?

Varana Charters is a brand operated by Komodo Luxury, a charter operator founded in 2015 and based in Labuan Bajo, Flores, Indonesia. Reservations are handled directly by the Komodo Luxury team. The publishing entity behind this site is Juara Holding Group. Editorial content is maintained by our on-site editor, Rani Prasetya.

We describe boat classes, itineraries, and price ranges to help you match a boat to your group and route. We do not own most of the vessels featured on this site, we do not operate Komodo National Park, and we do not set park entrance or conservation fees. Where a boat is not owned by Komodo Luxury, it is arranged via vetted licensed partners.

What do the prices on this site mean?

Every price is an estimate, as of 2026, and subject to change. Charter costs move with boat class, trip length, route, group size, season, fuel, and availability. Peak dates — August and the New Year period especially — price and sell out differently from low season.

Where we cite a figure, we attribute it to a named source so you can verify it yourself. For example:

Source Published figure (as of 2026) Notes
Salam Ransel 2D1N whole-boat charter from IDR 110,000,000 per group; 3D2N from IDR 130,000,000; 4D3N from IDR 160,000,000 Stated capacity up to 21 pax across 9 rooms

AYANA Komodo Waecicu Beach AYANA Lako di’a private charter (3D2N, 2D1N); AYANA Lako Sae full-day (max 8 hours) No public price shown in the source we reviewed

These third-party figures are reproduced for reference. We did not set them, cannot guarantee they are current, and they may differ from any quote you receive from Komodo Luxury for your specific trip. Always confirm the live price before you commit money.

Who sets Komodo National Park fees?

Komodo National Park entrance, ranger, and conservation fees are set and collected by park authorities, not by Varana Charters or Komodo Luxury. These fees are typically charged on top of the boat rate.

Please treat park fees as an add-on and verify current rates before you travel, because they:

  • may differ for foreign versus Indonesian visitors;
  • can carry weekend or holiday surcharges;
  • change periodically at the authorities’ discretion.

Drone use and diving may carry separate permits or fees. We do not publish a specific park fee amount here because official rates change and we will not quote a number we cannot currently verify. Ask us or check the official park channels for the figure that applies on your travel dates.

What is included and excluded in charter prices?

Based on figures published by Komodo Touristic, listed trip prices generally include the boat, crew, meals, mineral water, tea, a tour guide, snorkeling gear, leisure activities, and hotel transfers. They generally exclude Komodo National Park entrance fees, dive trips, insurance, flight tickets, and hotels.

Typically included Typically excluded (extra cost)
Boat, crew, meals, water, tea Komodo National Park entrance and conservation fees
Tour guide, snorkeling gear Dive trips and dive permits
Leisure activities, hotel transfers Travel insurance
Flights and accommodation on land

Inclusions vary by operator and boat. Confirm exactly what your specific charter covers, in writing, before you pay a deposit.

Is anything on this site professional advice?

No. Content on komodocharterboat.com is general information about boat charters in Komodo National Park. It is not financial, legal, tax, medical, or insurance advice. We are not a licensed financial, legal, or tax adviser. We make no guaranteed returns, outcomes, weather conditions, wildlife sightings, or availability. Dragon sightings, manta encounters, sea conditions, and sunrise visibility depend on nature and cannot be promised.

Any decision you make about travel, insurance, health, or spending is your own. For matters that need a professional — travel insurance, medical fitness to travel, visa status — consult a qualified, licensed adviser.

Where does our liability end?

Varana Charters connects you with charters operated by Komodo Luxury and its vetted licensed partners. The vessel operator is responsible for the safe conduct of your trip, its crew, equipment, and compliance with maritime and park rules.

To the extent permitted by Indonesian law, Varana Charters and Juara Holding Group are not liable for:

  • changes to prices, park fees, itineraries, or availability after publication;
  • weather, sea conditions, or force majeure that alter or cancel a trip;
  • acts, omissions, or service standards of any third-party vessel owner or supplier;
  • loss, injury, or damage arising from your own decisions or conduct during travel;
  • errors in third-party figures that we reproduce and attribute in good faith.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Booking, deposits, and cancellations

Komodo Touristic recommends booking at least one month in advance; peak dates such as August and New Year sell out earlier. Deposits are typically required to confirm a charter, and bank transfer is common. The exact deposit amount, payment schedule, and cancellation and refund terms are set per charter by the operator.

Confirm those terms directly with the Komodo Luxury reservations team, in writing, before you transfer any money. The terms quoted to you at the time of booking govern your trip.

How do we handle your personal data?

When you contact us to plan or book a charter, we collect the details needed to arrange it — your name, contact number, email, group size, and travel dates. We use this only to respond to you and coordinate your booking with the operator, and we share it only with the partners required to deliver your trip.

For visitors in Indonesia, we handle personal data in line with Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (Undang-Undang No. 27 Tahun 2022 tentang Pelindungan Data Pribadi, “UU PDP”). For international visitors, including those in the European Union, we are aware of and respect the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — lawful basis, data minimisation, and your right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data.

To exercise any data right, or to ask what we hold about you, contact us using the channels below and we will respond within a reasonable period.

How do I raise a complaint or a correction?

If you spot an error on this site, disagree with a figure, or have a complaint about a booking, tell us and we will look into it.

  • WhatsApp: +62 811-3823-875

Reservations, complaints, and data requests are handled directly by the Komodo Luxury team. For price disputes, please include your booking reference and the date you received the quote so we can check it against the terms that applied at the time.
