These terms govern your use of komodocharterboat.com and any private Komodo charter inquiry you send us. Varana Charters is the publishing brand; your charter is booked and operated by Komodo Luxury, a licensed Labuan Bajo operator. By browsing this site or messaging us on WhatsApp, you accept the terms below. Nothing here is a booking confirmation until Komodo Luxury issues one in writing.
Last updated: as of 2026. We may revise these terms; the version published here at the time of your inquiry applies.
Who runs this site, and who books your boat?
Varana Charters is an editorial and matching brand published by Juara Holding Group. Our job on this website is to help you pick the right boat class, group size, and route for a private Komodo National Park charter from Labuan Bajo. The on-site editor responsible for content is our named fleet editor.
The actual charter — the boat, crew, itinerary, and payment — is arranged and operated by Komodo Luxury, a real award-winning operator founded in 2015 in Labuan Bajo, with reservations handled directly by its team. When you send an inquiry, you are booking with Komodo Luxury under its operating terms. Varana Charters does not own the boats and is not the vessel operator; we match, quote, and hand off to the reservations team.

What this site is — and what it is not
| This site does | This site does not |
|---|---|
| Compare boat classes and match them to routes and group sizes | Sell tickets or take payment on the page |
| Publish estimated pricing and route information | Guarantee a specific rate, boat, or availability |
| Route confirmed inquiries to Komodo Luxury | Act as your licensed financial, legal, or tax adviser |
| Explain park fees and add-ons in plain language | Set or collect official park entrance fees |
All content here is informational. Prices, boat specifications, itineraries, and included items are described to the best of our knowledge as of 2026 and are subject to change. Nothing on this site is a binding offer until Komodo Luxury confirms your specific charter in writing.
How do inquiries and bookings work?
An inquiry becomes a booking only when Komodo Luxury issues a written confirmation and you meet its deposit terms. The general flow:
- You tell us your dates, group size (typically 4-20 people), preferred trip length (1-day, 2D1N, 3D2N, and up to 5D4N), and boat-class preference.
- We match you to suitable boats and share an estimated quote.
- Komodo Luxury confirms availability, the final rate, and payment terms.
- You pay a deposit to hold the boat; the balance follows the operator’s schedule.
Booking window. Book at least one month in advance where possible. Peak dates — August and the New Year period especially — sell out earlier. Late requests may still be arranged subject to fleet availability.
What do prices include, and what is extra?
Charter rates quoted through this site reflect the operator’s published inclusions. Based on how Komodo Touristic describes standard private trips, a listed boat price typically covers the boat, crew, meals, mineral water, tea, a tour guide, snorkeling gear, leisure activities, and hotel transfers.
The following are not included in the boat rate and are billed separately or paid on site:
- Komodo National Park entrance, ranger, and conservation fees. These are charged by the park authorities, may differ for foreign versus Indonesian visitors, can carry weekend or holiday surcharges, and change periodically. Verify current rates before you travel.
- Diving trips, which are arranged as an add-on and may carry their own permits.
- Drone use, which may require a separate permit or fee.
- Travel insurance, flights, and hotels.
We present park fees, diving, and insurance as extras on top of the boat rate so your budget is realistic. We do not state a fixed park-fee figure here because official rates change; always confirm the current amount before departure.
Pricing, estimates, and no guaranteed outcomes
Any figures shown on this site or in a quote are estimates that vary by boat type, duration, season, route, and group size, and are date-stamped as of 2026. For reference only, published third-party rates illustrate the range: Salam Ransel lists whole-group Komodo charters from IDR 110,000,000 (2D1N) with stated capacity up to 21 people, and Komodo Touristic lists private phinisi trips from about USD 2,616 for a 3D2N standard boat within an overall estimated USD 2,049-8,457 band. Your final price comes only from Komodo Luxury.
We do not guarantee any specific experience, weather, wildlife sighting (including Komodo dragons or manta rays), sea condition, or outcome. Itineraries around Komodo Island, Rinca, Padar, Kalong, Manta Point, Taka Makassar, and other sites may change for safety, weather, tides, or park regulations at the operator’s or captain’s discretion.
Deposits, cancellations, and reschedules
Deposit, cancellation, and reschedule terms are set by Komodo Luxury and confirmed to you in writing before you pay. In general terms, and subject to the operator’s confirmed policy:
- A deposit (commonly by bank transfer) is taken to hold your boat and dates. Until the deposit clears, no boat is reserved for you.
- Cancellations may be subject to charges depending on how close to departure you cancel; the closer to the date, the higher the likely charge. The exact schedule is stated in your confirmation.
- Reschedules are handled subject to fleet availability on your new dates and may carry a price difference if you move into a higher-demand period.
- Circumstances outside anyone’s control — severe weather, park closures, official restrictions, or force majeure — may require rescheduling or itinerary changes. In those cases the operator’s stated policy governs any credit, refund, or alternative.
Always read the specific deposit and cancellation terms in your written confirmation. Those terms, not this general summary, are what apply to your booking.
Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate passenger details, arrive on time for departure from Labuan Bajo, follow crew and park-ranger safety instructions, respect national park conservation rules, and hold appropriate travel insurance. You are responsible for your own health, fitness for the activities booked, valid travel documents, and any personal items brought aboard.
Liability
Varana Charters (Juara Holding Group) publishes this site in good faith but does not warrant that every price, specification, or schedule is error-free or current, given that operators and authorities change these periodically. To the extent permitted by law, our liability as a publisher and matching brand is limited to the information function we perform; we are not liable for the operation of any vessel, which rests with Komodo Luxury. Claims relating to the charter itself — safety, service, delays, or cancellations — are governed by Komodo Luxury’s operating terms and Indonesian law.
Data, privacy, and international visitors
When you contact us, we process personal data (such as your name, contact details, travel dates, and group information) only to respond to and arrange your charter inquiry, and we share it with Komodo Luxury for that purpose.
We handle personal data in line with Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (UU No. 27 of 2022, “UU PDP”). If you are contacting us from the European Union or the United Kingdom, we also aim to respect GDPR principles: we collect only what we need, use it only for your inquiry, and keep it no longer than necessary. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing sales@komodoluxury.com. WhatsApp messages are subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy terms in addition to ours.
